The following additions are included in Rev 1.0d firmware:
- Real-time Clock
A true real time clock is now available on the RIO-471x2 and DMC-3xxxx controllers. This allows synchronization of I/O with actual timed events (year, month, day of month, day of week, hour, minute, second). The clock can be set manually or with a standard time server over Ethernet. The commands RT, RY, and RO have been added for real-time clock support. A -RTC option is available which provides battery back-up of the time when the power is off in addition to higher precision. - PWM Output
The RIO can now generate 8-bit PWM signals on outputs14 and 15. PWM signals are useful for controlling heaters, lasers, proportional valves, and other devices. The frequency range of the PWM signal is 10 Hz - 20,000 Hz. The commands PM, FQ, and DY have been added to change the frequency and duty cycle. In July, a -PWM option will be available that will allow for the full range of frequencies set by the FQ command as the current hardware is limited by the bandwidth of the optoisolated output hardware. - Modbus Write to Arrays
The ME command has been added which provides RIO array read/write access. This means array values can now be read or written over Modbus TCP/IP. The Modbus masters have the entire RIO array table to read/write in integer or floating point. This allows the RIO to have more flexible communication to other Modbus devices.
